Ri-Pensare
Riccardo De Santi
Why do scientists need AI algorithms to make new scientific discoveries? How could these algorithms look like? This talk dives into a scientist’s complex decision-making process, highlighting our mental limitations and showing how AI algorithms, such as Reinforcement Learning agents, can expand our capabilities in fields like drug discovery, material design, and controlling complex systems. Riccardo De Santi, a researcher and incoming doctoral student at the ETH AI Center in Zurich, in his own work conducts research in the foundations of algorithmic decision making, including Reinforcement Learning, and its applications to automatic scientific discovery.
